About ConMap
The free directory connecting authors and the events where they sell, learn, and grow.
What ConMap is
ConMap is a free, searchable directory of conventions, book festivals, and writers' conferences across the United States and Canada. Whether you're an author with a table to fill or a craft to sharpen, or an organizer with a program to build, ConMap is here to help you find each other.
Our mission
We exist to serve two sides of the same community. For authors, ConMap makes it easy to discover events worth your time — places to sell your work, meet readers, and hone your craft alongside other writers. For event organizers, ConMap is a way to reach the authors who bring energy, books, and audiences to your event. One map, one search, both sides served.
Free to use
ConMap is, and is intended to remain, free for everyone — authors, organizers, and readers alike. There's no fee to browse listings, and no fee for organizers to submit or claim an event. The site is funded entirely by donations: if you find ConMap useful, please consider clicking one of the donation links on our home page to help keep it running.
Why build it?
ConMap grew out of a simple frustration: its developer, Rick Shaw, a sci-fi/post-apocalyptic author, couldn't find one place that listed the events where he could sell his books and sharpen his craft. So he built it.
Rick wrote The Tunguska Deception, Genesis Renewed, and The Genesis Renewed Saga, plus short stories in Bayonet Books and The Santa Barbara Literary Journal. He teaches at the Santa Barbara Writers Conference and Antelope Valley College, and runs 2FTech.us.
